Lake Mead TriathlonLarry Tomsic has completed 65 triathlons and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in September 2006.

Larry has been active in sports most of his life. In Junior High and High School he set school track records in the half mile, mile and two mile relay and was Delaware State champion. He ran track and cross country at the University of Delaware. He also enjoyed playing volleyball until he sustained a knee injury in 1993.

In 1998 he returned to running and completed 4 half marathons and shorter distance races before concentrating on triathlons beginning in 2001. He has completed 60 sprint distance and 5 Olympic Distance triathlons and finished first in his age group in nine of those races. He was ranked in Top 20% in USA for his triathlon age group in 2004 and 2005.

To celebrate his birthday, Larry completed his first, last and only marathon in Camarillo California on January 6, 2013 in a time of 3.50.33 which won his Age Group and placed 29/90 overall.  His time qualified for the Boston Marathon but he has retired from marathon racing.  He has finished 2 Warrior Dash races.
